Way to save a basic intro that can still be edited?

tldr: Is there a way in Vegas to save a preset of multiple pieces of generated media together along with some basic effects?

I have a lengthy project that is broken out into chapters, each chapter begins the same way though. Blocky white text that appears on screen with the title of the section, the white fades away leaving the text see through with the scene behind it and then a "zoom" through the text to the content behind it.

Super basic, made with a text layer that has a multiply mask on it with a solid white plane directly under it and create a composite envelope around the generated text to keep any content below that layer visible.

In a previous project I would just make a copy of the grouped layers and put it at the start of each section. For my current project I am using nested timelines now to try and keep a tidier and more sane timeline, but now I don't have the grouped layers to easily copy and just have to keep rebuilding the intro each time.

Since I have to update what the title says each time and adjust where the zoom effect goes so it doesn't just zoom on black or half a of a character I can't just render it as a video asset. Are we able to create a preset in Vegas that would just copy what I've made and allow me to use it as a template across the other timelines in a project?

Read about nesting.

Personally, I just created a template project that has my beginning in place. I open that template, Save As to the name for this project, and then adjust the titles as needed with the files/titles that are already in place and add the project files as needed. Then you can easily adjust the text and zoom as needed without affecting any other project.
