FLVs are sort of an obsolete video format, jk. MP4s are really more state of the art.

The settings you use depend on "for the web" means for use in your own HTML web site or whether it means uploading to YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook.

720p at sane bitrates (<5Mbps) is "almost" universally playable.
1080p is not, especially with motion.
