That what be cool. Google is still tweaking it though so as long as the open source codec are update before mass release then I'm ready for it.

This is an honest question not an inflammatory statement. Why would we want that over them putting the time into more complete closed captioning which is becoming required to make a living?

I don't see any great need for WebM at this point. If anyone needs to deliver in that, they can use an outboard converter that will no doubt be freeware soon. That is especially since it is likely to become a moving target in specification the way 5D is.

What markets are we going to be closed out of? What have I missed? I haven't been following it that closely.
