Weird behaviour of what media are selected when changing bins

Hi all,

It's not a big deal, but still I found Vegas behaviour quite weird when you have some media in your mediapool selected and then change to another mediabin that doesn't contain all your selected media.

Example (I tried it with Vegas build 115):

move 3 events into mediapool, let's call them A, B and C

Create a bin in mediapool

copy A and C into the new bin

change to "All Media"

select B (A and C deselected)

change to the bin

You would either expect that no media in the bin are now selected (because B is not in the bin), or that only A is selected as "default". But surprisingly, "C" is selected.

Could this be a bug? What I would expect is that media selections is tagged to the media in mediapool and not changed at all while swapping bins. Of course this would mean that more media than currently visible could be selected, which can lead to conceptual questions (eg, should a selected-but-not-currently-visible media be affected by actions). Alternatively, when changing bins, the set of selected events should either be narrowed accordingly or completely removed.

One wish I'd have for a further release: the ability to scroll in media bin and timeline such that the first selected media/event becomes visible (and maybe an option to step thru selected media/events such that they are scrolled to).

Thanks, dust
