Weird error with the Tracking attribute of VEGAS Titles and Text

I have tried to create a simple effect of a word expanding out, but for some reason the moment I animate the Tracking value, everything goes weird. I've included a video of how it ends up animating:

I essentially just wanted the letters to spread out from an acronym with fade ins, but I can't get it to stop centering on the center of the word during playback for some reason. There are no pan/crop events or anything else applied to this text. The only modifications made are:

Anchor Point is set to Bottom Left

This changes position from "0.50, 0.50" to "0.08, 0.35"

Tracking is set to "-2.415", then animated gradually over 2 seconds to "0.000".

Has anyone tried to do an effect like this before and have some insight as to what's going on here? Or know another method of achieving a similar effect without individually Pan/Cropping each letter on separate tracks?

I've also tried Center Left and Top Left anchor points to similarly glitchy and undesirable results.

@TallestGargoyle I'm seeing the same behavior .. It tracks fine while you drag the timeline within Titles and Text window but it will not work with the project timeline cursor .. as you say, things get "weird".

ProType titler seems to work for this.

@TallestGargoyle yep same here, i get as in your vid, Dynamic ram added makes it do the thing i think you want spread across the screen but it's jerky, Selective prerender makes it expand from centre, I tried keyframing the anchor point but that's just weird too,

@TallestGargoyle Legacy Text will let you do that

Definitely an error. It apparently is using CENTER when previewing the move from the timeline. It will sometimes bounc into position at the end of the animation.
