Weird Mono Problem

I'm Printing to Tape (something I've done many dozens of times) to a DSR 1500. For some reason, the deck is only getting the left channel.
The output of Vegas 6.0d is set to stereo, it renders stereo and shows stereo on the meters.
The deck is set to iLink, 2 channel, 1 & 2, but when it's printing to tape, only the left channel read for both bars/tone as well as the body of the project.
What might I be missing?
This is the first time I've had a problem.

2 channel is not the same as Stereo. Is your camera/deck set to record at 32 instead of 48?

At 32 it creates two stereo channels. That is why it says 2 channel, 1&2.
