Any chance feedback from monitor speakers?

Can you insert a dummy plug in mic input if a laptop pc or unplug mic on a
desktop pc?

Sounds to me like you haven't activated your serial numbers on the new computer yet. SONY's software makes those sounds when you're using an unregistered copy.

acid is activated, vegas is not - yet. both are making the 'tone' sounds. both programs are generating these sounds during playback, but acid also makes them all the time when the program is open. it is not monitor feedback - it sounds like random synthesizer notes, constantly playing in the background every 2 seconds. very strange! there are no soft synths in the projects or anything rewired.

don't know if it's a sony problem, an rme problem, or something in windows xp. how can i narrow it down and troubleshoot it????

thanks

The plugins that come with ACID and or Vegas are generating these beeps. The plug-ins are some how in "demo" mode.

The solution is in our FAQ database Beeping Plugins or you can contact tech support and they will work out the problem for you.
