Weirdness with key shortcuts and mouse??...

I'm currently evaluating Vegas6 (I'm a V4 owner) and I've noticed while working on a project I'm having a hell of a time just moving frame by frame though my video??

The thing is, moving >left< works fine but moving right just doesn't seem to work?

This is both at work on a Dell and at home on my HP 8080US laptop.

For example holding down [ctrl-alt-shift] and moving the scrollwheel forward moves me left, moving the scrollwheel back MAY move it one frame forward, but usually not at all??

Holding down the [alt] key and pressing the left arrow moves be back through the timeline [alt] right arrow does NOTHING?

What's going on here - this was driving me crazy until I realized it wasn't me but something with Vegas6 demo and the computer hardware...

Any suggestions appreciated!

Wow, so nobody here has ever experienced this problem with their mouse or cursor key navigation?

I can't imagine what would cause this - alt <- moves the cursor backwards fine alt -> doesn't do anything - same with the mouse wheel.

And I definitely checked and reset the key mappings tab.

I will say sometimes it works and then at other times not at all.

My last project I was using AfterFX side by side with Vegas - I'm wondering if some how AFX was causing problems (I know AFX has weirdness with CPU usage for example...)

I just have to pin down when any why the keyboard shorts for the forward motions tjust stop working.

Oh well.

I am a newbie - but for what it's worth...

I am V6 user without any key probs...

SUggestions -
1 - Test another keyboard
2 - Ensure the key(s) are not assigned to any other shortcuts

Well I would think it was the hardware except it happens on my new laptop and my machine at work so it's not that.

...And I did check the keyboard mappings, I certainly haven't changed them...

I noticed yesterday at work after starting vegas (without a project loaded), the alt arrow keys works in both directions (same with scrollwheel)

Started Vegas at home this morning same thing, it was working so somewhere along the way it konks out on me...

All I can do now is take note when it happens and perhaps I can figure out why but it's not an illusion, those forward moving actions just totally stop working.

Since you're on Vegas 4 now, are you opening Vegas 4 projects for testing? Does this only start happening after opening a Vegas 4 project? What happens if you only work with new projects in Vegas 6?
