I hope vegas 11 really gets fixed soon. I had to go backwards because the frame drops for me were so tiresome on editing clients work. Only problem now is I cannot go back with this project to Veg 10e since I saved in 11. Damn!
I am begging for the fix to all these crazy bugs.
I want my mtv...I mean vegas 11.

Which also serves as a reminder that you should always save a backup .veg from the old version before editing it in the new version.

I've read you can copy and paste from V11 back to V10.

Oh really? I'll give it a go, as I've got VP11 installed.

V11 copy to V10?

In theory: yes - in practice: no ...

... because you get an endless list of missing plug-ins that are not the same in the 2 versions - i.e. colorcurves, chromakeyer, brightnessandcontrast etc etc...

Tested by yet another former Vegas fan who was forced to return to Vegas 10.0e because of V11's impossible keyframes, not working smart rendering, removed preview in player, unusable zoom in simple stills etc ...

I copy/pasted a small project from V11 to V10E and had to redo all the fx's, zooms, and sound levels.

I wonder if Sony would consider changing their license terminology so that a purchaser of VP11 would also have rights to any PREVIOUS version of Vegas.

I am stuck way back here in V7d and perfectly happy being here, since I don't currently work with AVCHD, 3D, or floating-point video. The program is bulletproof, not a single glitch or crash that I can recall--ever. Renders use my dual-core CPU and are fast enough for my current needs. Again, absolutely no surprises.

I have used Vegas since V3 and have done many dozens of HD projects, including multi-hour documentaries involving 2-camera shoots, lots of color correction, lots of stabilization (New Deshaker), dual-layer DVD burns, and discrete 4-channel surround sound.

There are folks on this forum who can no doubt run circles around my technical and artistic skills, but the point I'm trying to make here is that even V7d was an extremely sophisticated and powerful NLE with the added bonus of being as stable as a rock. It's a shame that current purchasers are stuck with a "new and improved" product that in some ways is not as usable.

I suppose Sony will never suggest that users revert to earlier versions because doing so would point out how much stability has been lost over the past few years.

Great using veg 10 again till I loaded cineform files in. Now I am back to the disappearing timeline files that just show a black screen instead till you close and open again. LOL. It ends when?? : )

David17, have you tried the fix that David Newman posted in the Vegas11/CineForm black frames -- positive news thread?
He wasn't sure if it would cure Pro 10 problems but said, and I quote, "I don't know about Vegas 10, try it."
