The error recovery system may work against what is needed for video. Also the IDE interface is only ATA100 it would seem.
It was the line about 'not suitable for desktop use' that got me worried.

Yes, well, that caught my eye too, but I'm running a server on my gigabit network that serves up video files to other workstations. I'm currently using Hitachi 250gig SATA drives set up as RAID-0 on the server and it works great. I'm going to look into the new WD drives some more.

I love when they say that. That's 114 years of solid 24/7 use. Wonder if my great grandchildren would still want to use those things even if they are still running in 114 years! :)
I also am curious about how they test that... Do they run 1 million drives for an hour and hope none of them fail, or did they make one 114 years ago and it just gave out? And since that's "mean" time between failure, I guess it's possible to get over 200 years out of them if you're lucky! :)
