What do I render as?

So I have a video ready and I want to render it but I don't know what to render it as. I tried rendering as an "Sony AVC/MVC Internet" (since I'm probably gonna upload it to YouTube) but when I did that the bass boosted/Earape sections of it were.. well anything but that, and it does work on other file types so I don't know what's up. I'm using Sony Vegas 14 on windows 10 and this is my first REAL video I'm trying to render. I'm new to the whole video editing thing so sorry if this is a stupid question.

How do you plan to use or distribute the video you're outputting?

That will determine what you output it as.

Most folks here upload an MP4 file type to post on YouTube & Vimeo. Choose an internet preset that has AVC video and AAC audio. These presets are available under Magix AVC, Sony AVC and Mainconcept codecs. All have more than adequate quality for YT / Vimeo.

I tried rendering it as a Main Concept 4k and HD and both times it stopped at 34%. It worked on a smaller video so could it be a storage problem?

One thing you can try is rendering a small portion of the video. Highlight a segment then when you go to render select render loop region only. This way you can test quality and if there is a rendering problem or space problem. Also you can customize any render option which includes audio quality by going to customize template and then audio.

Could be... I'm not sure about Vegas, but most programs throw a message indicating insufficient drive space.
MP4 (AVC) files are relatively small... at least compared to uncompressed or even 'lossless' video formats. And there's not much sense in rendering a 4K file if your source files are not 4k. YT also re-encodes the files to their own lossy format.
Typically a one-hour video program rendered @1080p using the Magix or MainConcept AVC codec with an average bit rate of 14,000.000 bps is usually around 4 to 7GB depending on content and other factors.
If you do have sufficient drive space, I would recommend posting your media information and such on the Vegas Pro 'video' forum page. There are many folks over there who know a whole lot more than I do about encoding video for YT or whatever.
