NOTHING. It makes graphical glitches that actually get rendered and not just on the timeline. I was just complaining about this and someone told me to turn off GPU and the glitches were gone.

I LOVE Intel HD4000 for Vegas 12, so much so that I sold my EVGA 660 Overclocked 2gb DDR5 video card because the rendering with Intel Quick Sync Video was 50% faster than using the 968 CUDA cores on the card.

In terms of the timeline viewing, I just turn off the Intel HD 4000 option and put the dynamic RAM to 0.

I haven't had any issues with the rendered files using Intel Quick Video Sync on the Sony AVC MP4 settings.

Please note that Titler Pro does not currently support the Intel graphics cards. So if you plan on using Titler Pro, get an nVidia or ATI card instead.

If you wade through this thread you'll find some annecdotal and some actual measurements on the subject.

You should read this thread for important driver information.

As I understand it, it is good to converter / randere with, but can not be used to edit in the timeline, therefore as far as you do not use FX effects such as sony stardurst is really good but without a real graphics card it will be difficult.

I have test Intel HD4000

30 seconds video clips 1400x1080 50i - 25p PAL (European format) CPU I7 3770k

If I render a clean video clips without effects is just as fast as my GTX 680

Intel HD 4000 Hi - 24 seconds
Intel HD 4000 Low - 17 seconds
GTX 680 - 20 seconds

But if I use FX effects Sony stardrust is intel hd4000 very slow compared to the GTX 680 but about 3 times faster compared to CPU i73770K

INTEL HD 4000 Hi - 3 min 7 sec (Intel core i7 3770k 8. min)
INTEL HD 4000 Low - 2 min 57 sec
GTX 680 - 34 sekunder

Edit in timeline will be difficult in good preview quality
A clean video clips can I appear in the preview Best / Full with 25 frames per second

As if I use FX Sony Starbrust Intel HD4000 or cpu i3770k can not do the job only 1 frames GTX 680 shows it with 20 frames per second preview is set to max Best / Full, remember to set dynamic ram to 0 otherwise save Sony Vegas display the frame and effekt in ram and can display video clips faster every time (Shift b set ram to 5000 mb ca. 25 sekunder video) since it does not require calculation of the FX efekt once again

Note if you test only cpu, remember to turn Graphics off in sony vegas options GPU acceleration, because I've noticed if you randere only in CPU help the graphics card anyway to, therefore there are many who can not see the difference when comparing randere in CPU and GPU. Try it yourself where you use effects.

I would like to hear from people on the forum how fast (number of frame Fps), you can play / view a video clip when the preview is set to max Best / Full? if i use Sony Starbrust?

/ Best regards from Denmark

I appreciate the input fellas. From what I'm reading, V12 and HD4000 are not yet ready for prime time on my system. I'm have just a little too much experience (and frustration) working with workarounds and chasing ghosts if you know what I mean.
Seems as though Vegas is progressing nicely on the GPU front and I have no doubt that it will be a seamless solution with nVidia, AMD, or Intel graphics in the near future. But for now, for my work flow I'm going to stay with the CPU.

Thanks again for you help.
