What happens when i save the WHOLE THING to avi

I have a project which is 83 minutes with several AVIs and crossfades. If I save the whole thing to one big AVI, will i lose quality? I mean will it re-compress te whole thing?

If you are using DV clips and you are rendering back to DV, the sections that have changed (crossfades, fx etc) will be recompressed. The untouched DV frames will be copied, bit for bit, no recompression.
