What is the best Camera Format for Internet Video

I have a Sony DCR-SR42. 30gb Hard drive. I rarely get the video results as far, as clarity, that I desire. I am not ready to yet purchase the amateur pro type camera. I guess my observance is that the best formats from worst to best are as follows in that order. Hard Drive, MIni DVD, MiniDV. Does anyone agree with this?

I would like some feedback. I an looking at purchasing a new camera. However, The least expensive HD for Sony in MiniDv is $1009.00. I would like to keep the price down.

This is where I post my videos:

The canon hf100 is full hd and does a really good job. Just search for example on vimeo.

If you are only interested in some vlogging-type internet show, you just buy the Kodak V1233, V1253 or Z1285. For $150 you get 720p HD video, and these cameras couple as very good digicams. For Vegas, you might need to create proxy files to edit their MOV MPEG4-SP video though.
