DVDA can import a few different formats, but the final result must always be MPEG2, as defined by the DVD specification.
You can either render out to AVI in VV, and then let DVDA do the recompression to MPEG2, or you can render straight to MPEG2 in VV using the supplied templates (they all start with "DVD ARCHITECT").
