All 8b's should 'b' one and equal... A newer build, would be 8c (I'm not at my Vegas machine to tell you my build number but I'm sure it's exactly the same)

Not necessarily. Sony has posted a new build on the website but not bumped up the release number. I think I saw that with either version 8 or 8a.

Just check for updates from Vpro8 and you'll have the latest. The software automatically provided an update for me from my original 8a version.
