So, here is what I do with Vegas...
Edit on Vegas 64 with 8G etc, so Vegas 64 would have been nice, but that is not currently an option given some of the items below...
I shoot in HDV
I output for a company web service - Flash player, training stuff, uses markers in the video stream to change load other web-pages in iframes (no, you can't use Vegas for that, I know)
I output personal stuff on either DVD or BD-R(E)
I use Magic Bullet
I don't really use transitions and glitzy stuff with one exception, when I make stuff that is made to be "funny but dumb"
I (extremely rarely) put something on youtube
I use Cinescore
I am bitten by the HDV ingest problems
I have never been able to edit in 32 bit color space on any computer I have ever tried (at least seven different ones)
I use Neo HDV to de-interlace when I have shot 24p with my Canon HV20
Reading these fora and reading the release notes, it seems to me Version 9 offers me absolutely nothing in reasons to upgrade. There is no way I can edit in 64 bit. None of the HDV problems regularly experienced and reported have been fixed. SCS employees still haven't surfed the internet in the last 3 years and discovered that RealMedia and wmv is not really that useful any more.
Have I missed anything in the announcements or the v9 docs? Given the attitude - if it doesn't fix any problems, don't upgrade, is there any possible reason for me to upgrade?
