what's your workflow for capture?

i'm wondering what your workflow is for capturing video for your projects? what i have been doing is capturing the video in a general capture folder, then moving the media into project/video folder via windows explorer. but, this makes the .sfvidcap file not know where the files are. or, is it maybe better the always change the capture folder via the prefs before capturing, that way moving files is not needed? is saving the .sfvidcap file really that important?

just looking for a better way do to this because my method seems clunky.

It seems you have answered your own question.

However, I:

1 - Capture from a New Project

2 - Capture Prefs>Directory [ this on an external 120gb firewire drive ]>name new folder

3 - Use New Capture folder

4 - Capture footage

5 - Save other media under New Media Project FOlder
i) Audio - Voice; Music; Audio fxs
ii) Graphics - Scans; Video Stills; Draw stuff . . . lots of idiotic stuff in here . . really!
6 - I've a separate "New File From T/L" rendereing folder > "New Project"

7 - I keep all Veg files on the C: drive + NEwProject.sfvidcap files within a V4 folder under "NewProject"

That's about it really - I need this as I'm a very messy editor - really! I mean it! I shouldn't be let loose on a proNLE product like V4! <wink>
