What settings are used to encode?

Does DVD-A use VBR? I can't find this in the docs anywhere. I think the optimize dialog is one of the coolest things in DVD-A, but I don't trust it since I have no idea what it is doing. I encode most of my video with "Best" quailty VBR. Is that what DVD-A is doing? Should I just stick to encoding all my video in VV4 and bypass what looks like a cool feature in DVD-A?

Yes, DVDA uses VBR. Encoding in DVDA should yield the same encoding results as in Vegas, however DVDA gives you more precise control of the average encoding bitrate.
