Ideally it should be 655x480 (if you're working in NTSC). A non-compressed format such as TIFF is preferable to a compressed format such as JPG. However, if your image is already JPG then there's no advantage in converting it to TIFF.

I remember somthing about increasing the size if you plan to pan/crop/zoom, but I don't remember if it was the resolution or DPI. Kelly?

It would be the absolute size of the image, which can be referred to as resolution (eg. 1280x960). But DPI has no meaning in video. However, keep in mind that if you start with a larger image and are not cropping down to a 655x480 section of it, then having Vegas resize the image smaller for you will result in a fuzzier picture!

I made it 720x480. That's why it was fuzzy. One more question :-)
What's the best way to make a logo which will be in the corner of the screen. Should I make 655x480 image and just put the small logo in the corner? or there is better solution.
