What to "Rip" Audio Files With?

In another thread folks were kind enough to suggest I use WAV audio files instead of the WMA ones. Well last night I noticed that if you use Windows Media Player to rip files from an audio CD you do not have an option to save them as WAV files.

So, to save myself some grief I thought I'd ask what programs you folks use to rip audio tracks to WAV files and also what program you might use to convert to a WAV.

I Googled this last night and found lots of software choices but before I start installing or buying any more software I thought I'd ask the pros here :-)

Cheers!

Chris

You can use MS to rip them, but if you want library management etc as well, have a look at MediaMonkey. CDex is another popular choice. If you fancy a CD / DVD burner along with a ripper, CDBurnerXP Pro is a good choice.

These programs are all free, btw.

If i'm using Movie Studio then i click File / Extract media from CD. If i'm in Vegas i click File / Extract Media from CD. If i'm in Sound Forge i click File / Extract Media from CD. I don't have any need to use any other software.
