Still the thread gets bumped and still people ask - I already answered what version in the Vegas 5 and what version is in MC type stand alone.

This isn't rocket science to look at what version of the dlls are used.

What is not the same, and where I think a lot of this "version" confusion comes from is the interfaces. Vegas has to interface with the dlls. So does Adobe. And so does Main Concept. In other words - yeah the stand alone version is version 1.4.2 but that is not the version of each dll/codec used. Adobe has a 1.3 interface - but that is not the actual dll/codec used. Vegas 5 uses version 1.0 (Build 2005) to interface with another Sony codec, version 2.0 (Build 229) ...so I guess you could says that the current versions for these programs is something like:

Adobe - 1.3
MC Stand alone - 1.4.2.0
Vegas 5 - 1.0.0.2005 / 2.0.0.229
