Ultimate S2, and all 21 VASST Software products are Vegas 7 ready and are available for download at the VASST web site. You can download them and use them in trail mode for 15-days.

What is not ready is the system for you to get a new license key because the move to .NET 2.0 broke our licensing software. As you can imagine, reissuing licenses keys to all of our existing customers is no small task and we are still testing the shopping cart to make sure this transition goes smoothly.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and we will be sending out emails to tell you the procedure as soon it's ready.

But correct me if im wrong, JR but the new version will work in the trial mode for however many days to tide everyone over till the emails go out right?

The only catch is the US2Xtras don’t work on trial mode so you would loose the ability to use GrafPak-1 & 2 and AudioPal-1. Other than that, yes you have 15-days of full functionality. I’m hoping the email will go out today.

JR, The trial mode for GrafPak-1 & 2 and Audio Pak-1 included with US2 work fine for me but Reelpak 1does not.

Yes the trial modes work fine but if you install the US2Xtras to get the full 50 GrafPak-1 & 2 lower thirds they will not work. The email is almost ready to go so hang in there. ;-)

The upgrade procedure is in place. Everyone should have gotten their emails by now. If you didn’t there is a link on the VASST web site home page called: NEW Updates for VASST Software and Vegas 7 Users that will get also give you the instructions to upgrade. It's all free to existing customers.

Edge Detective isn't affected? (It wasn't in the list of stuff I bought...I just realized.)
JohnnyRoy wrote on 9/14/2006, 6:21 AM
No, Edge Detective is not affected because it is not a .NET application; it’s a DirectX plug-in and uses win32 licensing. Only the scripts that must run under Vegas were affected.

How about the free VASST products like the DVD Prep script?

Okey-doke. Thanks.

The VASST-Free tools don't use a security system/unlock system, so these tools are also not affected.
ECB wrote on 9/14/2006, 7:51 AM
The VASST free tools do need an update to target the install to Vegas or you can paste the folder.

Ed, it's true you need to paste them in the folder because Vegas 7 isn't one of the targets specified, but as you've pointed out, you can copy/paste the tools to the folder in Vegas 7.
However, the .net 2.0 issue doesn't affect the funtionality of the VASST Free tools.

I have all of the installers for the Freeware tools updated with Vegas 7 as targets. I just haven’t had time to upload them to the site yet. I have to take care of my paying customers first. Maybe I can get to it later today.
