Where are custom templates stored?

I'm migrating Vegas 7 to a new machine and I can't seem to find where my custom "render as" and "project properties" templates are stored.

Are they in a file that can be moved to the new machine or do I need to create them again from scratch?

thanks!

Try going to your C drive and then 'Program Files'. Find the folder that says 'Sony'. Inside of that find the 'Shared Plug-Ins' folder. Inside of that find the "Utilities' folder. Inside of that find the 'Migration Tools' folder. In this folder, read the 'SF2Sony_readme.htm' file. This should help.

Thanks but that's just for migrating from Sonic Foundry programs to Sony programs, not for moving rendering templates from machine to machine.

Sorry Nick but I think you're going to have to re-do them from scratch.
I vaguely recall an old post saying that this information was buried in the registry somewhere, meaning that it's not readily accessible.

Sounds like another feature request to me!!

Nick,

All of the custom rendering templates are in:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Sony\File Templates

Where <username> is your windows account name. Just copy them over to your new PC and they should be recognized.

Disclaimer: This is not documented by Sony so use at your own risk, your mileage may vary, void where prohibited by law. ;-)

jr, thank you very very much for posting that!!
I am now a happy editor knowing that there is a way to copy the many presets I have on various machines.

Thanks very much JohnnyRoy, can't believe I missed that. The templates copied over fine.
