Where Do You Keep Your To Do List

Where do Vegas Editors keep their To Do List?

You know, all of those things that you have to do before you finish this project. The Comments section on the Summary Tab of the Project Window is one candidate. I'm wondering if Vegas has some other scheme built in that I am missing. If not, what do people do? What is good practice?

We have an Excel file we use for most every project that contains billing, shot list, etc. Works really, really well.
One of our guys does use the Summary, he's got his projects set up to open with a checklist in the summary, etc. and he follows it as he goes thru. Works for him.

Excel, or even *.txt files work great.

I often will made a *.txt file for the project, then, when complete, delete it.

For all-encompassing items that will apply to all projects, actually a reuseable check-off list, Excel is the best.

If it's things that still need to be added or tweaked in the project, I use named regions to leave myself notes.

Any chance you'd be willing to share that checklist with us? There may be things I don't even know I'm forgetting to do! As in the fourth pane of Johari's Window: Things I Don't Know That I Don't Know.

I often use paper and pencil - yeah, sure it costs, but ...

And it still works with the computer turned off ;)

... very basic but works for me: generated media (text). I put some pannels along the way...
I almost had this nervous breakdown about the "Sample Text" text appearing each and every time in the Text window, posted about this problem and (duh...) somebody came with a suggestion: *make some presets*.
After feeling like an idiot for about an hour and calming down, I did some presets with text being 26 in size, no "Sample Text" text appearing in the window (an *empty* one) and even did it for 3 different purposes in 3 different sizes / prefs ...

Otherwise, I leave a TXT file on my desktop, which I try to keep as empty as possible all the time (I use quick launch at the bottom for all my apps).

Also sometimes during shooting, I'll use my cam as a voice recorder. At editing, I simply put these sound bites on a different track dedicated to these "audio notes".
