Where's my re-do?

Randy Brown wrote on 12/31/2003, 9:48 AM
Hi all,
I just realized I deleted a couple of cropped clips from the timeline before making 20 or so changes; I selected the undo pulldown and then selected a particular spot (instead of clicking the undo button 20 times) and now my re-do is greyed out. Is this normal or am I mising something.
TIA,
Randy

Maybe you picked a spot on the redo that was in actual fact the 20th redo. This would have left you with a grey out button. Have another go and report your results - yeah?

. . gotta rush . . doing something for Jetdv . . and if he sees me writing here here he'll go balaistic . . ha ha ha . .

Thanks Grazie but I don't know what you mean by have another go. The re-do is greyed out and it seems that it doesn't want to come back. I usually "save as" every 15 or 20 minutes (I'm still hal asleep)but it's over an hours worth of work and I'm not even sure about everything I did.
Thanks again Grazie...now get back to work!

See... Posting instead of answering the 4 e-mails I've sent you this morning. I see how it works! :-)

p.s. I've received ONE from you so far.

Yes it was. Sorry Randy. I just tried the exact same thing and all of the actions that I "undid" showed up in the "redo" side as expected with the redo arrow highlighted.

But I still haven't seen any of his e-mails.- isn't technology wonderful :-(

Let me make sure I understand you correctly Edward...you're saying, from the undo drop down you went back, say 20 or so commands, and your redo arrow didn't ghost out?
Thanks Edward,
Randy

Yes. That is what I am saying. And, in fact, ALL of the 20 or so items appeared in the REDO box.

Hmmm... strange. I can't re-create it either so I'm guessing all is well now ( I started another instance and am way past where I was anyway). I suppose I should put a 10-15 minute timer on myself from now on to remember to do a "save as" just in case I ever get to a "point of no return" again.
Thanks very much Edward, you and Grazie can continue your little chat now : )

Randy that was exactly what I was trying to say too! Once you've undone 20 and then Redo those 20, the Redo is, as it were, emptied, and therefore greyedout - yeah?
