Interesting concept...as in AC3 downloads? What do you play back an AC3 on the PC with? Probably need a sound card with a built in DD decoder? I don't usually hear the actual AC3 files until I've burnt to DVD...

Cosmo: I just click on an ac3 file, and it plays in my "Zoom" player. It also plays on my Windows Media Player. I assume the PC is using the WinDVD ac3 decoder.

I've also seen wmv files encoded in surround.

not downloadable, but you can buy some DVD-A discs.
