Which graphics card?

Hi,

Any suggestion which graphics card to use to connect to a Ikegami or JVC production monitor via compent (RGB)?

I would like to use the existing graphics card (connected to a 24") for Vegas interface and a 2nd (if possible) graphics card for preview production monitor.

Is this possible and what brands do you recommend?

Regards
Per

An Aja Xena or Blackmagic card should be able to do it (though watch out about driver and hardware compatibility).

The other approach would be to use a firewire camera to send material to the monitor. (SD) The camera would convert from DV(over firewire) to analog (S-video, composite; some DV converter devices will do component). Sometimes it can be somewhat useful to monitor via composite to check for cross-color artifacts (e.g. the moire/color rainbows on fine detail).

2- I don't believe you can use a video card (designed for computer monitors) to feed a production monitor.

1.
Is composite better for "cross-color artifact" than component RGB?

2.
Sorry, what is "cross-color artifact"?

3.
Would a component RGB be good for colour preview and composite for "cross-color artifact". If so I guess one have to switch between them.

4.
Both the XH A1 and HV20 output in component as well as composite.
