Who is burning DVDs?

If you have a DVD burner (not a CD burner), and would like to help us beta test the MPEG-2 update, please send an email with DVD burner model, DVD burning software, and OS info to:

sonicepm@sonicfoundry.com.

We have made some changes that should ensure better compliance with different DVD burning software, and we'd like you to try it with your personal setup before we formally release the update.

Thanks!

I'm curious. From past posts I got the impression that the MPEG-2 update was going to deliver seperate audio and video files - i.e. an MPEG video only (not a system stream with the audio missing) and a PCM audio file. These files would be a help to me. I use MyDVD to create the DVD images but then burn it to a CD. Is VV going to be able now to burn DVD authored images directly to DVD?

The update will address this issue.

"Is VV going to be able now to burn DVD authored images directly to DVD? "

Not in the next update.

Hi,

I sent my email in Friday with the info requested. When will we here back from SF? I almost have a project ready for MPEG-2 render to burn to DVD. I would like to try the new encoder if possible.

Thanks,

That should be 'hear back' not 'here back' :-)

We are making some changes to the encoder and will have a new beta version (beta version 2) soon. Update news will be posted here, in this forum.
