The last time I went I stayed at Circus because the price was right, but the wait for a taxi was loooong. I walked the mile in 100-degree heat faster than a taxi could have gotten me there. My wife wants me to stay at the Hilton this time. (This is the same wife who told me to go buy a big-screen TV for the basement. I think I'll keep her.)
I'm going with the $39 rooms in the tower at the Imperial Palace. It's a great location on the strip and even has a monorail station... How bad could it be, right? :)
circus circus is close enough that you can walk there faster. you can cut through the riviera (uh, don't get lost in there) and then walk through the parking lots.
Last year I was mostly up at the broadcast booth upstairs showing off the XDCAM EX workflow, right next to the two guys from Sony who spoke very halting English, and were showing off the MPEG2 hardware renderer (that never got produced). I was only helping out for the last two or three days of the show. Oh yeah, I was at the user event helping to usher everyone to their seats as well.
Ah - I never made it to the Sony booth unfortunately - Barely get out of the booth I work when I go there to work, but that's probably because I end up making sure that everyone else has had a chance to get around, since there's really very little there that interests me except taking a look at any new cams, and just walking the floor a bit.
