If you have a physical BD burner installed in your system, as well as the UDF 2.5 driver - the limit is as high as 40 Mbps. I tested my EX1's stuff at 40 Mbps max, 35 Mbps average - no re-compression (apart from multiplexing with the DD 5.1 sound and menu rendering).
Yea, you didn't change the bitrate of your project to match your footage. DVD Architect 5 defaults to the lowest bitrate. You just need to change it for your camera. Then save it as your personal default. I have mine set to 25MB to match my Sony Z1/A1 output.
I hope I have the right thread to add my question.
Where in Vegas 8 Pro can I set the BlueRay format to 18Mbps.
The BD templates that show up only give me choices of 25Mbps and 8Mbps. I assume 25 Mbps is for Blue Discs and 8 Mpbs is for conventional (low res) DVD's.
By contrast, DVDA 5 allows me variable bitrate in Optimize and selecting the default 18Mbps has allowed me to burn BD format regular DVD's which play quite nice in large HDTV sets in tested Sony, Samsung, and LG BD players, albeit to about 25 minutes capacity.
I tried the Vegas 8 Pro BD format at the given 25Mbps and the resulting disc stuttered and jerked. I also tried higher bitrate (23Mbps) in DVDA 5 with similar stuttering.
If I can set the BD rate to 18Mbps for now in Vegas 8 Pro I may be able to save considerable time in preparing discs.
Choose the BD MainConcept render template that is closest to your needs (aspect ratio, frame size, etc.). Press the "custom" button, go to the "video" tab, and set the bit rate (CBR 18,000,000 or VBR 18,000,000 max). Save the modified template under a new name for future use.
Melachrino, if you are getting stuttering at 25mbps it is likely a media issue. I have burned both HD-DVD and BD to DVDR at 25mbps without stuttering on playback using Taiyo Yuden media. I did get stuttering on burns using Ritek budget media.
