Why Can I hear latency in VV4 demo, but not Acid 4P?

I have been using AP4 for awhile now, and I really like it. However, I would really like to be able to have a true multitracking app, so I decided to download the VV4 demo.

When recording in VV, why can I hear the noticeable effects on latency, but not hear them in AP4?

Both using the same buffer settings on my Echo Mia.

Weird.

What exactly do you mean by "... the noticable effects of latency... " ?

Do you mean an uncompensated offset in recorded tracks, or a delay in a monitored input signal, or what ?

latency is such a broad subject - you need to sepcify exactly what's happening before anyone will be able to come up with an answer.

When monitoring, I get this funky flangy delay effect that gets worse as the latency is set longer. Does that make sense?

You must turn off the Mia's hardware monitoring when using input monitoring in Vegas 4.0.

You should also be using the ASIO drivers for the Mia.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
