Strangely enough, everything seems to work fine when capturing but after I press stop, VV gives a message that no video has been captured. Why? Please help.
You might want to give some details if you want a response.
Is you're camera being controlled by vidcap? Is cap duration and location advancing?
C'mon, give us some clues and we'll get you going. Has capture worked before? Are you using advanced capture?
Ok, the dv camera is connected fine, using firewire. All seems to work: the camera responds when I ff or rw. As soon as I hit capture it seems like it is capturing (the numbers are running in the timecode area). But when I hit stop a dialogue comes up that says: capture complete, no video captured. Capture duration and location ARE advancing.
Strange. I tried both advanced capture and normal capture. When I use the advanced and before capturing I make a loglist, every logged bit says (on in and out-points) 00.00.00.00. To me it looks like the capture app cannot reach the timecode of the tape, but it DOES show the timecode on ff and rw and on duration and location.
Go to Options/Preferences in Video Capture and disable
the "Minimum Clip Length" preference on the "Capture" tab. You shouldn't
have that problem anymore after doing this.
That was the answer that Sonic Foundry gave me.
I have no idea why this is not the default setting if you open this program for the first time.
