Why choose Sonic Foundry Vegas over other products?

well. Just now I just saw a list of video editing softwares.

So i was wondering, was it really worth it to buy Vegas?
There could be a dozen of other products even better and in terms of functionality and features.

I'm looking for a PROFESSIONAL software that has ALOT of features, but it has to be easy to operatre...such as Vegas which is soo easy to use (i lke it)

What you guys think?

A good place for you to go also to ask this question is www.creativecow.net got to the Vegas Video forums for more answers.

It has never failed during a session[knock on wood],clients always were either pleased or impressed with the final results. I've worked with Premier briefly for a recent scoring project and can't tell you enough how happy I am over using Vegas. What are your needs though? What kind of projects are you looking to do in the future. As of right now I can't think of a project that I couldn't handle video/audio with Vegas[. The only feature that Vegas seems to be missing is hardware excellerated graphics cards. Like with matrox products,canopus,premier,etc... If vegas added that then...Later.

such as?

just asking because I've looked at a lot of NLE applications too, and Vegas seems to stand up to all of them, and then when you consider price, Vegas blows away the competition! :)

Good software SHOULD BE easy to use. Don't equate clumsy, awkward interfaces with being "better" or more powerful. They were developed by programmers that were less creartive. Vegas is both powerful and easy to use. Rare, in software. That's probably one reason why most people that try Vegas rave about it. They know there is a lot of junk out there. Some high priced junk. :-)

If you are here, then you (presumably) did buy Vegas for whatever reason you felt compeling at the time, or a using the demo version. It really is a question that only you can discern the answer for yourself. If you do not find Vegas intuitive and easy to use, and with equall (or more) power to other apps, then buy them. Don't confuse 'streamlined' with lack of 'professionailty'.

If you want REALLY professional software, you could start with a spelling/grammar checker that differentiates between ALOT and A LOT
