Why do they call this a "support" forum?

As I look down thru some of the posts here I see people having problems and very seldom does anyone from Sony offer any help. If it weren't for others offering to help, this place would be absolutely useless.

It would seem to me that if Sony was going to have a "support forum", they would be here on a daily basis to offer "support" for their product. Am I missing something here?

From the main forum page;

"The Sony Pictures Digital Discussion Forums are peer support areas where you can share tips and advice with other Sony Pictures Digital product users. We monitor these boards periodically.
