why doesnt VMS recognize .mod files??????

I have VMS Platinum 6.0b

when I try to import my .mod files from my JVC Everio camera VMS doesnt recognize the file format...

I'd hate to have to manually convert 600+ mod files indiviudually to mpegs everytime I'd like to edit....its a real pain.

Would be nice if VMS Platinum just recognizes the file format to begin with...

what to do???????

Does the NEW version of VMS recognize these files types?.....does ANY version of Vegas recognize these files types?

thanks for your help

JVC= thumbs down

Since .mod files are realy MPEG2 you may be able to just change the file type from .mod to .mpg. If that doesn't work, have a look at MPEG Sreamclip. I've never used it, but the guide notes say you can convert multiple files at once - I've no idea whether you get more than one output file though!

Yeah I've tried renaming and it didnt work out.

I have MPEG STREAMCLIP now and use that to convert the mod files to mpeg's

works good but I think I'm losing some video quality with the conversion.

Just sux to have to do 600+ files manually like that.

Their batch conversion just creates one big file :-(

does the NEW version of VMS Platinum recognize the .mod format?.....anyone know?
