Why I can't burn DVD (anymore)!

Hi all!
Vegas 9, DVDA 5b (later tried with 4.5)
m2t files shot with HC9e
downloaded as dv.avi then rendered as DVD architecht wide screen
as m2v files.
In preview mode everything is OK.
But when I say "make DVD", "prepare" and "render" happens in reasonable durations but when it comes to "burn" it becomes awful, terrible etc:)
So any idea or advice?
Could it be codec wars? Something wrong with my notebook?

Total size used in this project is 3.9 GB.

I tried with three different DVD burners.

Thanks in advance.

Can you be more specific about how "awful, terrible" your DVD looks?

In what way? Is it simply lower resolution? That's to be expected. You are, after all, down-rezzing from hi-def to standard DV, which is less than 1/4 the resolution.

Does the picture jump and look jittery? That could be an interlacing issue.

The DVD burner hardware is your least likely problem. But where are you playing the DVD to test its quality? On a standalone DVD player and a TV?

Awful and terrible in terms of burning time! It does not burn at all! DVDA gives me a time something like remaining time 4 hrs, 6 hrs 14 hrs but never accomplished burning!

Don't know the cause but you could try Prepare Only in DVDA then burn with a program such as IMGBURN (free) or Nero.
