Why is quicktime render showing window media icon?

When I render to quicktime the file is showing a windows media icon. I click to open
it and it won't open, but if I open with quicktime then it opens...so it iS going to a quicktime application but it is not showing it in the icon.
How do I change this?

It's because you have associated the Quicktime File in Windows to open opened by Windows Media. You need to delete this association Using Folder Options. Then when you click on the icon again, Windows will ask you what program do you always want to open this file. Select Quicktime then it will work.
