I have recently been putting v4 beta through lots of little tests and overall I am very impressed, especially with the parent overlay mode and the video/audio bus. A problem I had with v3 that doesn't seem to have been rectified with v4 is to do with the Video Media Generator. Why oh why is the "sync cursor" button still greyed out for all media generators? When you have say 5 keyframes for the noise texture generator to get animated fx and want to go back to previous keyframes, this is not updated in the video preview. Of course I can check the frame it is on, and manually move the cursor in the timeline, but this gets old....real fast.
Maybe I am missing something here...please enlighten me! This lack of sync is no big deal with the text and gradient generators, as they have their own preview windows...although there is still guesswork as to the exactly what you are getting when you have multiple tracks of text. It is really driving me nuts trying to animate the new Noise generator as there is no way of previewing except to manually move the cursor. How do other ppl get around this limitation ? Can Sofo please tell me why the sync cursor doesn't work exactly like it does for video filters? Is it greyed out for some reason? Anyway, there is much potential using the noise textures as displacement/height maps on video and text...though it would be nice to have more variation in the textures available ;)
