Why no zooming in the preview window?

Tiber wrote on 5/10/2021, 4:31 AM

Why it is not still solved to enlarge the image eg. For masking or even labeling?
This is a basic and pretty primitive problem at Vegas to this day!
Essential-in-time eg. This! - Editing functions should be developed to a modern level!
Sense only "stamp" in size instead of precise zooming!
With me, masses change from Vegas to another program exactly because of the absolute important feature!
And who do not understand or do not consider primary, there is no place in the developer team!
It is also essential for photo editing to enable you to do the precision things in a magnifying picture.
The video will grant seems a series of still images, but the Vegas team, this is not realized until now!
My condolences !

@Tiber - Sorry, I don’t understand?

I'm reading this as meaning zooming in the preview window.
Several attempts have been made to implement this feature in our existing Preview pane, however our efforts have not resulted in anything that would be particularly useful. We are quite limited within the software architecture used in this window right now and the real only solution for us is to rewrite that section of the code, something we currently do not have the time or engineering resources for.

So, that is why.

@VEGASDerek it would already help when there is a possibility to toggle between Full screen preview and docked preview or that you can drag/resize etc items in the external preview.

Again, we are extremely limited with the software architecture we have in place. The oldest and most difficult pieces of the application to modify and/or replace are the timeline and the preview window. One day will get to replacing them which will allow us to do much of what is being suggested in this thread, however it is something that will take a long time for us to do.

This was based on a company such as Corel, Adobe, Blackmagic or Cyberlink.
Glitch is not fashionable at other crap was the primary development, but also a professional finish.
Sony Vegast was used from version 2 throughout the whole thing because it was the best.
I have gained some experience since 1985.
I also tested the last latest on 2 machines, the same amateur surface with full bugs.
Eg. Not saved in the program Preferences settings, faulty back Import (see fps and internal video profile), but the point is that an otherwise very nicely (more nicer rendering) and fast program vain contains excellent tracing options and champion stabilizer (although Track stabilization is still missing with Wobble-CMOS correction, see Mercalli) - It's useless!
Only that Corel started to rewrite the codes destroyed by Avid - did not come back to the Pinnacle Studio.
In fact, since then it has improved a lot, grinded, except for waste cache treatment.
I'm sorry for the Vegast but sinking in a very bad direction again than after buying Sony.
And I emphasize: Others in other forums also admit the same.
As regards programming, School Example NCH VideoPad, you have to look at how much.
The tip of programming and the king of amateur video software.
From labeling to masking you can do all the basic things.
He does not want to be more than what is, but they can surely program it at the company.
Even their beta versions were not mistaken since I know their jobs.
Any company could take an example of their programming technique !!!!!
In the 21st century, they solve something from 5 to 6 megabytes that others can not do perfectly with Gigas.
It's a shame !
So I unnecessarily signaled things, but I have been hard to change because I used something for several decades, which is advertising as "Professional", though an outdated waste is currently.

A "Denglish" rant,, ok.

Vega's legacy issues are well known, team small, etc.
The forum will not be able and willing to help you here, stay with Davinci Resolve or others, bye

I think English is not Tiber's native language and is using something like Google Translate.

There is a place for feature requests, but @VEGASDerek stated the obstacles in front of the programming team.

Every editor has it's high points and low points. Every single one. You have to decide if you can live with the short comings/work- a-rounds of the software.

Is Vegas perfect? No. It does need some critical (to me) improvements. But that has not stopped me from using and creating videos with it. Not at all! Do I own and have other video editors on my computer? Like most here, yes! But the one that always gets opened first when I have a project to do is Vegas. It's not the only "tool" in my video editing tool chest, but it is the first tool I always reach for.

Looking forward to what is new in VP19!
