Why not prerender a NON-temporary file for Audio CD??

I *almost* have Vegas' CD-burning tools working, except that if I have any "processing" at all -- for example, volume envelopes -- Vegas commits buffer underruns and tells me my system can't keep up with the process. This is even though it's only a two-track set-list (already did the multitrack mixdown to stereo), and I have a 933MHz system with a quarter-Gig of RAM and lots and lots of available disk space.
I can make the process work successfully if I select "prerender to a temporary file" -- but it sure is a hassle to have to do that EVERY time! Fine if I want to run multiple copies of a CD at once, but I'd REALLY like to be able to save that "temporary" file and use it for my next CD-burning session.
Is this enhancement too much to ask? (seems technically pretty straighforward to me...)
