Why will my BRAW footage not import?

Hi guys,

I recently reinstalled Vegas 21 on a new PC and now I cannot import any BRAW footage, shot on my BMCC6K. I have Resolve installed, which includes the Black Magic RAW codec for all compatible editing software.

I'm getting the "Warning: an error has occurred while opening one or more files." etc. while using the import tool. If I try to drag the footage in directly to the project media menu, it does nothing (cursor turns into a "cancel" icon"). If I click details it gives me something like "File C:\Users\robert\OneDrive\Desktop\Music Video\Footage\A001_02131549_C008.braw could not be opened."

Note - I do not see any type of Black Magic related items in my File I/0 and Deprecated Features tabs in the Preferences menu. I can't remember if it was there before.

This is really weird, being historically I was editing BRAW just fine in 21. Support on both sides hasn't been of any help, just providing common suggestions such as installing/reinstalling everything.

Any advice?

I believe 315, although BRAW has worked in Vegas since version 18 or so I believe. As I stated too, I've been working with BRAW for a while, it's only when I upgraded my PC and reinstalled Vegas (with latest version) that it no longer works.

BRAW was introduced about half way through the VPro 20 release cycle. The codec has not really changed since it was originally introduced, so I'm curious as to why it is failing right now for you. The best way for us to diagnose this is to get a sample of the media that is failing.

Braw sample from 2021 does not display correctly , compressed horizontally , audio length is shorter than video length . video resolution - 4096x1720

We are aware of this issue. We are working on a fix for this.
