Will Demo of VV5 update the MPEG in VF and VV4?

I was curious to know if Sony is keeping the "shared plugins" between applications. I currently own VV3 & VV4 as well as VideoFactory 1/2 on an older PC. I wanted to know if installing VV5 will update the Mainconcept MPEG in these versions by Sonic Foundry or will I run into problems?
I am also posting this message under Video Factory forum as well.

Thanks.

Short answer is no.

Sonic Foundry is under Sonic Foundry and Sony is under Sony. In other words your encoding filters for the SoFo items will not be updated. Which kind of sucks because you could do it that way in the 'old' days. Sony to Sony wise it woks that way however. I notice Sound Forge 7 now has certian render abilty in the mpeg department that it did not have prior to installing the Vegas 5 demo.

I noticed that V4 now has the "SWF" output option, but you can't actuatly do it.

Like filmy said, it really does stink cuz now we can't update out encoders. :(
