Eh? - Why not try and see for yourself? Which kinda beggars the question why post this question in the first place? Do you have "another" reason for asking this?

The only way I think you will find an answer is try it yourself. Mind you I DO have Deshaker, SteadyHand and Mercalli!

BTW, is this the version of deshaker John Meyer script OR the other version one of the colleagues created and worked on?

Grazie

Hahaha, it's a joke. This has to be the world's shakiest video.

I have used deshaker with footage which is worse (hand held follow cam with snownboard in some off piste run). The only one advice I have is to avoid the plugin and load the video directly in vdub. Once pass 1 is completed, do a trial and error process with pass 2 until you are satisfied with the processed output.

BW! Yah got me - arrrgghhh . . . !

Thanks, you made me laugh . . . . Often I am far too serious for my own darn good. Cheers!

So I WAS right, you DID have an ulterior motive?

"Hahaha, it's a joke. This has to be the world's shakiest video."

Why are you wasting our time with this nonsense? You want shaky video, watch MTV.

I was thinking this was really bad, but maybe I'll run it through deshaker when I put it all together. I tried deshaker with a video I shot with a Flip attached to my car window and it did a reasonable job.

Maybe I'll make a splitscreen before and after just to learn something new. Any deshaker tips would be appreciated.

I put that "bumpy" music with it to make it seem like it was intentional, and to kind of "goof" on it. I have a bellydancer scene I want to try slomo on.

Use the forum search function. John Meyer has written extensively about deshaking video.

Apart from John's post regarding the other John's excellent work on the free deshakers, yes.

Footage as bad as what you have is beyond help. Violent movement between frames is impossible to track and hence correct. Even when you can the motion blur can bite you badly leaving comet trails that wobble around objects in the frame. If the camera uses a CMOS sensor you might also get skew problems to add to the horrors. Skew seems less noticeable when what caused it is also visible ( the camera movement).

So best advice I can give is if you cannot keep the camera still best to use a fast shutter speed and hold it for less vibration and more wobble. There's a couple of gizmos around that can really help, the Cinesaddle is one and Digital Juice are currently selling a cheaper knock off thats probably not quite as good but seems much lighter and could be taken on a trip.

Yeah, I was thinking it was way too bad to even bother with and it was shot through a van window so there's reflections, lens flare, poor color to say the least.

Those posters above probably are just pulling my leg to get me back, haha, the jokes on me. Good one.

I'm going to search for that deshaker info for future reference, and I don't know what kind of mount will work on a car window without shaking, but I'll check that out too.

Thanks

Mercalli seemed to work pretty good on the footage. I tested it on the bus footage of the pyramids, it made it much better (but I didn't mind it to begin with).

Hahaha, yeah it's kind of viral and definitely portrays what it's like traveling in Egypt. Egyptian anti-terror defense is a man, a truck, and a machine gun. I have some more footage of the "escorts"
