Sorry, no. You'll only get a short quick-start guide with your serial number printed inside the front cover. The full manual will be a .pdf file on the included CD.

I ordered what I thought was the boxed version of Vegas 4 and to my surprise found that I didn't even get the "box". I was told by SF that they had stopped sending a fully boxed retail version with upgrades and are now sending more of what I consider an OEM-style packet. I know it sounds like no big deal, but I find it much easier to store and locate a box than a plastic bag hiding on the shelf between stuff. Since I ordered the download initially, I thought it be nice to have a full box, but unfortunately "still" don't have one. What I resent even more ...and have expressed this to SF... is the position taken that upgraders get something less than first-time buyers. What next will be left out of the package that you've paid 2 or 3 hundred smacks for?

I suspected I would not get a manual. Oh, well.

No not in color but very high res. greyscale. I would have preferred color but it really doesn't make a lot of difference to me as I can still look at the pdf if I think it will help. I just like having the manual open beside me when I am learning. Being old and slow it sometimes takes me longer and the manual is a big help. I do find being a long time Sound Forge user helps a lot with the common features.
