I have been using Vegas 12 for years and have never had a rendering problem. Currently I am unable to edit in any video format. I am only given the option to render in PNG.
Please Help.

Are you not able to render anything as a video? (did you try importing different kinds of videos and rendering them?)

Yes I have tried rendering other videos that I was able to render before. Only option is to render in PNG.
I assume there is no concern with doing a reset. Can you think of anything else before I try that? I am so fearful of something going wrong with a reset because that is the curse I have upon me.
It already doesn't work so what do you have to lose? A reset will remove customizations but not affect your projects in any way.
Beyond that was there a recent update (Windows update?) that may have caused the problem? If so try to undo it.
LOL True. Fear of losing all my videos I ever made. I've lost so many videos in the past that I get very anxious.

The one thing a reset will never do is delete any video or project you made : )
