I can’t speak for Ed (JetDV) but according to this thread in the Vegas Script forum from SonyPJM, script writers were warned that the namespace was going to change which means the old scripts will not work until modified.
Here is the direct quote:
The namespace in the next major release will be different but exactly what the new namespace will be has not yet been finalized. It will probably just be Sony.Vegas. I would recommend just using the SonicFoundry.Vegas namespace for now and updating your scripts when Vegas 5 is released.
Since this is a one line change, I assume Ed will have updated versions of Tsunami and Excalibur ready to go. But I can’t image that the current versions will not work until modified.
Excalibur: Updated to work with Vegas 5. No longer needs to create/remove an extra track/event in order to fill up the boxes. So, there's no more problems with media being added to the media pool by simply running Excalibur.
Neon: Updated to work with Vegas 5. No longer needs to create/remove an extra track/event in order to fill up the boxes. So, there's no more problems with media being added to the media pool by simply running Neon.
Tsunami: Updated to work with Vegas 5. Extract Good Clips modified so that the clips moved to the master track will also create sub-clips. These sub-clips will be named whatever you name the region or marker defining the sub-clip.
So, all three programs are now using new abilities built into Vegas 5 (i.e. they are more than just a simple "imports" line change). If you own the current version of any of these products, you will be allowed to have the Vegas 5 version. If you own a previous version (such as Excalibur 1.0 or 1.5), you will need to upgrade to 2.0 to get the Vegas 5 version.
We're working on getting both of those available. Gary's at NAB this week. I presume e-mails will be sent out to everyone next week (I know, not an immediate solution). I've also sent the updated version to Zenote so that it can also be easily downloaded.
Not sure what I can do to provide an "immediate" solution for all the programs. I do have access to the Tsunami purchase list so I can easily confirm and provide an alternate link to the Tsunami update. I don't have access to the same information on Excalibur or Neon.
PLEAAASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, How can I get the update for Tsunami? I wrote to To Edward Troxel but haven't heard back yet. If you read this Sir, can you look into it? I am an addict of Tsunami.
I have replied to EVERY message I have received about the upgrade to Tsunami. I have also sent an e-mail to ALL e-mail addresses on the "purchase" list. If you have not heard from me then it is because I have not heard from you or your e-mail account bounced back my e-mail to the purchase address.
Please e-mail me again and I will see that you are taken care of. Use the editdv at jetdv account for the quickest response.
