Speaking strictly from a video functionality perspective -- SP2 only really matters if you're trying to go to firewire at 50 or 100mbps -- SP2 adds this functionality, but in doing so, breaks some dv25 functionality. There is a hotfix for it, though. So, unless you're shooting with something higher res than DV, and using it for I/O as well, SP1 is a-ok.
