WIN2000 & CDA? Lost waveforms?

I just upgraded from win95b to win2000 Professional. I have Sound Forge 4.0, but CD Architect 4.0d(build 184) wouldn't work as a plugin because I lost my install disk back in 97 or 98, so I use it from within Sound Forge XP 4.0d(build 184). Now with win2000 I have at least two problems that I have found.
1)waveform displays are gone! The sound plays, but the waveforms are now flat. As you can imagine, it makes it hard to master with the crossfades and level adjusts we all love.
2)CDA no longer recognizes my CDRW. It's a RICOH MP6200S. This writer is listed within the program as an option, but the program doesn't recognize that it is actually there. EZ CD CREATOR does recognize it and I have sucessfully burned a cd since the upgrade with EZ CD CREATOR.
Will the upgrade to CDA 4.0g solve these problems or do I need to revert to WIN95b or possibly WIN98?
Anyone else with these problems?
How did you solve them?

OK. Since no one seems to know an answer or wants to help, I've done some experimenting on my own and here's what I've come up with. I downloaded and installed the latest update for CDA. CDA now "sees" the burner that has always been there. Why I needed the update for this is beyond me. I still had flat waveforms. Then I started to experiment. I added a WAV file to the audio pool in a project I had saved. Added it as a track and I had a waveform for the new song! Then I tried changing file attributes through Windows Explorer, but no luck regaining the lost waveforms. Then I decided to move the SFK file of an offending track to a safety folder(in case I needed it back). I opened up my CDA project and I had a waveform for that track! I promptly repeated the process for the other tracks. CDA built new SFK files for each track and all my waveforms were restored. The problem seems to be that the old SFK files weren't compatible with either W2K or the CDA update. I did notice that the newly created SFK files were smaller than the old files. I have opened a few CDA projects that use the same WAV files and they all work. I hope this helps someone.

I believe there is an option within CDA to cause it to rebuild the waveforms each time you load a project. This takes a little time but might permanently addess this issue. My memory of this detail is a little hazy as I've switched VV3 for CD burning now.

I do seem to remember an option as you described. CDA takes longer to load for me in W2K than it did in 95. I may have that option enabled with my new OS. I believe my biggest problem was that CDA was accessing the old SFK files associated with the waveforms I created under 95. I still can't figure out why the hew SFK files are so much smaller than the old SFK files. Maybe it lies within the difference between FAT32 and NTFS.
