Vegas will work with the wave emulation of WDM drivers. There are
some issues both in performance and the number of devices available.

The best solution today is to avoid non Wave API drivers with Vegas
or any of our products. I realize there are limitiations to many
vendors Wave NT drivers installing and running under Win2000. If your
hardware vendor does not provide proper Wave API drivers that are
compatible with Win2000, then it is recommended that you stick with
either the OS that they do support that is compatible with Vegas 1 or
2 or consider alternate hardware.

A future version of Vegas will address the WDM issue giving direct
access to the WDM Kernel Streaming layer.
